On a conscious level we recognize the workings of the subconscious through feelings, and urges. The subconscious is very different from the rational, logical part of our mind called the "conscious mind". The conscious or critical mind weighs everything according to logic and is linear based ; whereas, the subconscious mind thinks more creatively and spontaneously. It has formed it's ideas through repetition, not logical fact. Instead it acts according to what has been impressed upon it with feelings and repetition over time. Then the subconscious acts as if it is a fact and it is relayed to the conscious mind as strong feelings and convictions. In other words it is something we believe deeply.
The good news is we can reprogram our subconscious with repetition. The Bible says "faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17) as you can tell, this means much repetition.
This basically means that the subconscious mind has to impressed with small, clear, concise statements worded a special way for the subconscious to understand it easier and respond quicker.
